Does Etobicoke Have Private Schools?

For Neighbourhood Explorers

Education is a big priority for families – especially when it comes to looking for a home. Being close to a great school (or school district) can make a huge difference in a child’s personal development.

As a parent, you have options when it comes to choosing a school. While public learning is the most popular option in Toronto, some parents prefer to take the private route when it comes to their kid’s education.

As an alternative to public learning, private schools take a unique approach to education styles and curriculums that some families simply find more appealing. Not only does Etobicoke have private schools, but you’ll find some of the best in the entire city out here. If you’re on the hunt for a new home in the area, you’ll want to keep these options top of mind.

In this blog, I’m recapping some of the best private schools in Etobicoke, Toronto.

Blyth Academy Etobicoke

One of the largest networks of private schools in Canada, Blyth Academy has become a well-known name in private education. While Blyth Academy is headquartered in Toronto and most schools are located in Southern Ontario, the group also has a few international campuses in the US, Italy, and Qatar.

One of their newest campuses, Blyth Academy Etobicoke, opened in 2018 and serves grades 9 to 12. Located at the corner of Bloor Street West and South Kingsway, it’s easily accessible by public transit and close to a number of great amenities. As a network, Blyth Academy is known for its small class sizes, and its Etobicoke location is no different. Currently, the average class size is just 12, ensuring students get a hands-on education.

Tuition and fees differ for Canadian and International students. However, the general range is around $25,000 to $31,000 roughly.

Kingsway College School

Founded in 1989, Kingsway College School promotes a unique learning experience tailored to the individual strengths and characteristics of each student. They prioritize experiential learning when it comes to academics, creative arts, as well as their athletic programs. Class sizes can vary. However, they rarely feature more than 20 students per class.

Tuition and fees range based on grade level, with total admission costs averaging between $41,000 and $45,000 per year.

One thing parents love about Kingsway College School is that it serves all grades, meaning kids can grow and learn with the same classmates throughout their entire educational experience.

Kingsway College School has two campuses – both of which are located in Etobicoke. The first, KCS Junior School, which serves junior kindergarten through grade 8, is located in the Chestnut Hills neighbourhood of Etobicoke. KCS Senior School, which is tucked along the waterfront in Humber Bay Shores covers grades 9 through 12.

Kingsley School

Located in Eatonville, Kingsley School serves students from junior kindergarten through to grade 6. Known for its emphasis on individualized learning and enriching before and after school programs, Kingsley School is a popular choice for families with younger children.

Unlike some of the other schools on this list, which create and follow their own learning pathways, Kingsley School follows the standard Ontario Provincial Curriculum. Rather than reinventing what kids learn about, they’re focused on how kids learn – ensuring everyone gets a chance to be successful. With an average class size of just 12, the school has one of the best teacher-to-student ratios in all of Toronto.

Operating as a not-for-profit, Kingsley School’s tuition rates and other fees are lower than most other private schools in Etobicoke. Complete costs will depend on each student’s unique needs, schedule, and education plan.

Olivet School

Founded all the way back in 1893, Olivet School is one of the oldest educational institutions in Etobicoke, if not all of Toronto! The school’s rich history and super small class sizes (6:1 student-to-teacher ratio) have made it a standout option for a lot of families – especially those who are looking for a Christian-based curriculum.

Combining traditional Christian values with the standard Ontario Provincial Curriculum, Olivet School takes a caring approach to learning while still holding students to high academic standards. The school serves younger learners, with programs from kindergarten through to grade 5.

Like Kingsley School, Olivet School also operates as a non-profit. As a result, tuition and other fees are on the lower side. As of 2025, tuition for full-day students is fixed at $14,300. However, sibling discounts are available.
